  • Condonopsis: Often used as a substitute for ginseng and good for the appetite and energy
  • Rhemannia Glutinosa: One of the main TCM herbs used a general tonic
  • Angelica Sinensis: Also called female ginseng as it helps with PMS.  It is helpful for everyone because of its ability to balance energy.
  • Glycyrrhiza Uralensis: Chinese Liquorice – Adds a pleasant taste and improves the efficacy of the other ingredients
  • Ligusticum Striatum – Chinese Lovage – Strengthens the liver and gall bladder.
  • Cinnamomum Wilsonii: A type of cinnamon often used for abdominal pain
  • Astralgus Membranaceus: Used to activate and strengthen the immune system,
  • Paeonia Lactflora & Similax Glabra: Relaxant, PMS symptoms

I added in the following ingredients:

All mixed together in a slow cooker.  After 3 hours of cooking, the herbal hot pot is finally finished.

The herbs can generally be eaten, however some are hard and fibrous – I would skip eating those.  Definitely drink the soup though, that is where the good stuff is.
